This Day’s Thought-Monday

This Day's Thought

Jesus Christ is the meeting place of eternity and time, the joining of deity and humanity, the junction of heaven and earth.

This Day's Verse

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Matthew 18:20
The King James Version

This Day's Smile

Most of us spend the first six days of each week sowing wild oats, then we go to church on Sunday and pray for a crop failure.

This Day’s Thought-Friday

This Day's Thought

God’s gifts are meted out according to the taker, not according to the giver.

Meister Eckhart

This Day's Verse

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.  And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

1 Peter 1:25
The King James Version

This Day's Smile

Dear God, Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones why don’t you just keep the ones you got now?

This Day’s Thought-Wednesday

This Day's Thought

We are slaves to our gadgets, puppets of our power, and prisoners of our security.  The theme of our generation is: “Get more, know more, and do more,” instead of “Pray more, be more, and serve more.”

Billy Graham

This Day's Verse

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:17
The English Standard Version

This Day's Smile

It is the history of our kindnesses that alone makes this world tolerable.

Robert Louis Stevenson

This Day’s Thought-Tuesday with Note

Dear Members…we continue this month of November with our annual fundraising efforts for next year’s operations, and we wish to first thank you for so many years of support.  If it were not for you, our ministry participants, we would never have reached so many people, from so many countries, for such a long time.

As we begin our 22nd year of ministry this coming January, we continue to pray that each day’s new message will provide inspiration and encouragement…and bring us all closer to the Lord.

We ask that if you feel so led, you might offer your financial support and investment in these efforts so that we may continue touching those in need with our daily Christian “seeds for the day.”

If you wish to contribute to This Day’s Thought, you may do so on our website donation page, at this link:  Make A Donation

Thank you and may God bless you in your continued walk with Him.

Sincerely, Greg for This Day’s Thought

This Day's Thought

When at last I cling to you with all my being, for me there will be no more sorrow, no more toil.  Then at last I shall be alive with true life, for my life will be wholly filled by you.

Augustine

This Day's Verse

And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

1 Chronicles 28:20
The King James Version

This Day’s Thought-Monday

This Day's Thought

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  To these I commit my day.  If I succeed, I will give thanks.  If I fail, I will seek his grace.  And then, when this day is done, I will place my head on my pillow and rest.

Max Lucado

This Day's Verse

Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!”

Acts 5:29
The New International Version

This Day's Smile

A man was asked to address a group about despondency.  He tacked up a big sheet of white paper.  Then he made a black spot on the paper with his pencil and asked a man in the front row what he saw.  The man replied promptly, “A black spot.”  The speaker asked every person in the audience the same question, and each replied, “A black spot.”  With calm and deliberate emphasis the speaker said, “Yes, there is a little black spot, but none of you saw the big sheet of white paper.  That’s the point of my speech.”

This Day’s Thought-Friday

This Day's Thought

The unforgiving spirit is the number one killer of spiritual life.

James Coulter

This Day's Verse

And he said: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;”

2 Samuel 22:2
The New King James Version

This Day's Smile

When it comes to walking with God, there is no such thing as instant maturity.  God doesn’t mass produce His saints.  He hand tools each one, and it always takes longer than we expected.

This Day’s Thought-Thursday

This Day's Thought

We must face the fact that many today are notoriously careless in their living.  This attitude finds its way into the church.  We have liberty, we have money, we live in comparative luxury.  As a result, discipline practically has disappeared.  What would a violin solo sound like if the strings on the musician’s instrument were all hanging loose, not stretched tight, not “disciplined”?

A. W. Tozer

This Day's Verse

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.  This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-3
The Revised Standard Version

This Day’s Thought-Wednesday

This Day's Thought

I would not trade one moment of heaven for all the joys and riches of the world, even if it lasted for thousands and thousands of years.

Martin Luther

This Day's Verse

For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

1 Peter 1:24-25
The New International Version

This Day's Smile

For most of us the hardest thing God could ask us to do is to wait.

This Day’s Thought-Tuesday

This Day's Thought

Jesus wants us to see that the neighbor next door or the people sitting next to us on a plane or in a classroom are not interruptions to our schedule.  They are there by divine appointment.  Jesus wants us to see their needs, their loneliness, their longings, and He wants to give us the courage to reach out to them.

Rebecca Manley Pippert

This Day's Verse

And this world is fading away, and these evil, forbidden things will go with it, but whoever keeps doing the will of God will live forever.

1 John 2:17
The Living Bible
