I do not ask, Oh Lord,
A life all free from pain;
I do not seek to be
In this vast world of need
Without my load of care.
For this I know, the cross
Is my eternal gain,
And he who struggles on
At last shall enter in,
And be victorious there.
So, Lord, just keep me fit within,
And give me strength to fight,
And I will follow through the din,
