THANKSGIVING
For the old sweet fashions of nature,
For the ritual of the seasons,
The wonder of seed-time and harvest;
And the sky over all,
Deepening as we gaze—
Let us give thanks.
For the flowers of divine grace and human kindness;
For the love that heals our hurts,
And the mercy that lifts us when we fall—
Let us give thanks.
For the thorns that require careful handling,
For the disciplines that train us for strength and honor,
For the sorrows that subdue to sobs and weld us in love to our kind—
Let us give thanks.
For our county and its laws.
For home and family and dear love of comrades
And for all who interpret to us the way and will of the Eternal.
Let us give thanks.
Jesse Halsey
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Psalm 100:4
The New International Version

Ambrose of Milan
