This Day’s Thought-Tuesday

Reminder Of Our Changes…This Day’s Thought is now sending our daily message from our address of message@thisdaysthought.org

As you may remember, our 20-year-old ministry united with Eric of The Ranch some seven years ago, and we now go forward once again as separate ministries to most effectively maximize the ministry opportunities that lie ahead.

This Day’s Thought is choosing to focus, just as we began, on sharing the very best Christian quotations, Bible verses and occasional smiles, five days a week, Monday through Friday, to help us all in our daily walk with the Lord.

Thank you all for your loyal participation over so many years, and we hope you will continue to enjoy the daily sends as we go forward in our worship and praise of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Please contact me if you should have any questions or issues as we begin this transition. (And Eric may always be reached TheRanch.org)

This Day's Thought

We have each day to be faithful for the one short day, and long years and a long life will take care of themselves without the sense of their length or their weight ever being a burden.

Andrew Murray

This Day's Verse

And as for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Luke 8:15
The Revised Standard Version

This Day's Thought

All the troubles of life come upon us because we refuse to sit quietly for a while each day in our rooms.

Blaise Pascal

This Day's Verse

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hebrews 13:8
The New King James Version

This Day's Smile

Don’t let your past dictate who you are.  Let it be part of who you will become.

This Day’s Thought- Friday

This Day's Thought

There are no disappointments to those whose wills are buried in the will of God.

Frederick W. Faber

This Day's Verse

“But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins…”  He said to the paralytic, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”  He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all.  This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

Mark 2:10-12
The New International Version

This Day's Smile

Very few people take the trouble to use their brains as long as their prejudices are in working condition.

This Day’s Thought- Thursday

This Day's Thought

While the Kingdom of God as the realm in which God’s will is perfectly done continues to be future, the Kingdom as the active saving power of God has come into the world in the person and activity of Christ to redeem men from the kingdom of Satan.

George E. Ladd

This Day's Verse

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:17

This Day’s Thought- Wednesday

This Day's Thought

There is no need to plead that the love of God shall fill our heart as though he were unwilling to fill us.  He is willing as light is willing to flood a room that is opened to its brightness; willing as water is willing to flow into an emptied channel.  Love is pressing round us on all sides like air.  Cease to resist, and instantly love takes possession.

Amy Carmichael

This Day's Verse

He trusted in the Lord the God of Israel; so that there was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him, nor among those who were before him.

2 Kings 18:5
The Revised Standard Version

This Day's Smile

Trade God your pieces for His peace.

This Day’s Thought- Tuesday

This Day's Thought

The life of faith is not a life of mounting up with wings, but a life of walking and not fainting.  Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the One who is leading.

Oswald Chambers

This Day's Verse

Praise the Lord!  Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,  Who delights greatly in His commandments.  His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.  Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

Psalm 112:1-3
The New King James Version

This Day’s Thought- Monday

This Day's Thought

God Incarnate is the end of fear; and the heart that realizes that he is in the midst, that takes heed to the assurance of his loving presence, will be quiet in the midst of alarm.  “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.”  Only be patient and be quiet.

F. B. Meyer

This Day's Verse

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;

Proverbs 2:6
The English Standard Version

This Day's Smile

Wag more.  Bark less.

This Day's Thought

Father, let me hold thy hand and like a child walk with Thee down all my days, secure in thy love and strength.

Thomas a Kempis

This Day's Verse

Yet the righteous holds to his way, and he that has clean hands grows stronger and stronger.

Job 17:9
The Revised Standard Version

This Day's Smile

Thank God for inventing pain!  I don’t think he could have done a better job.  It’s beautiful.

This Day’s Thought- Thursday

This Day's Thought

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.”
And he replied:
“Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.”

M. Louise Haskins

This Day's Verse

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

1 Peter 1:3
The King James Version
