This Day’s Thought-Thursday

This Day's Thought

Instead of complaining that God had hidden himself, you will give him thanks for having revealed so much of himself.

Blaise Pascal

This Day's Verse

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

This Day's Thought

One of the most fundamental marks of true repentance is a disposition to see our sins as God sees them.

Let brotherly love continue.  Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

This Day's Thought

God never does anything to you that isn’t for you.

Elizabeth Elliot

This Day's Verse

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.  And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, And save them, Because they trust in Him.

Psalm 37:39-40
The New King James Version

This Day's Smile

Kind hearts are the garden,
Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the flowers,
Kind deeds are the fruits.
Take care of your garden,
And keep out the weeds,
Fill it with sunshine,
Kind words, and Kind deeds.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

This Day’s Thought-Friday

This Day's Thought

It ought to be the business of every day to prepare for our last day.

This Day’s Thought-Thursday

This Day's Thought

Before God can deliver us we must undeceive ourselves.

Augustine of Hippo

This Day's Verse

But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!  It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown.  For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever.  And we who are living will also be transformed.  For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.  Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is your victory?  O death, where is your sting?”

1 Corinthians 15:51-55
The New Living Translation

This Day’s Thought-Wednesday

This Day's Thought

Many Christians will not witness unless they sense the Spirit of God prompting them to speak to a particular person.  I’m not that spiritual.  I share my faith whenever and wherever possible.  As far as I’m concerned, the starting gun went off 2,000 years ago with a loud, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.”  My conscience continually prompts me to speak.

Ray Comfort

This Day's Verse

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

Proverbs 27:2
The English Standard Version

This Day's Smile

Conquer a man who never gives, by gifts;
Subdue untruthful men by truthfulness;
Vanquish an angry man by gentleness;
And overcome the evil man by goodness.

Indian proverb

This Day’s Thought-Tuesday

This Day's Thought

To be “spiritually minded” simply means to look at earth from heaven’s point of view.  The spiritually minded believer makes his decisions on the basis of eternal values and not the passing fads of society.

Warren Wiersbe

This Day's Verse

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.

Psalm 138:7
The New International Version

This Day’s Thought-Monday

This Day's Thought

Let nothing disturb you,
Nothing frighten you.
All things pass,
And God never changes.
When you endure things with patience,
You attain all things that God can give you.
When you have God,
You lack for nothing.

Teresa of Avila

This Day's Verse

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Colossians 1:10
The King James Version

This Day's Smile

Wise sayings are lamps that light our way, from darkness to the light of day.

Henry Ward Beecher
