This Day’s Thought-Friday

This Day's Thought

The unforgiving spirit is the number one killer of spiritual life.

James Coulter

This Day's Verse

And he said: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;”

2 Samuel 22:2
The New King James Version

This Day's Smile

When it comes to walking with God, there is no such thing as instant maturity.  God doesn’t mass produce His saints.  He hand tools each one, and it always takes longer than we expected.

Charles Swindoll

This Day’s Thought-Thursday

This Day's Thought

We must face the fact that many today are notoriously careless in their living.  This attitude finds its way into the church.  We have liberty, we have money, we live in comparative luxury.  As a result, discipline practically has disappeared.  What would a violin solo sound like if the strings on the musician’s instrument were all hanging loose, not stretched tight, not “disciplined”?

A. W. Tozer

This Day's Verse

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.  This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-3
The Revised Standard Version

This Day's Thought

I would not trade one moment of heaven for all the joys and riches of the world, even if it lasted for thousands and thousands of years.

Martin Luther

This Day's Verse

For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

1 Peter 1:24-25
The New International Version

This Day's Smile

For most of us the hardest thing God could ask us to do is to wait.

This Day’s Thought-Tuesday

This Day's Thought

Jesus wants us to see that the neighbor next door or the people sitting next to us on a plane or in a classroom are not interruptions to our schedule.  They are there by divine appointment.  Jesus wants us to see their needs, their loneliness, their longings, and He wants to give us the courage to reach out to them.

Rebecca Manley Pippert

This Day's Verse

And this world is fading away, and these evil, forbidden things will go with it, but whoever keeps doing the will of God will live forever.

1 John 2:17
The Living Bible

This Day’s Thought-Monday

This Day's Thought

Prayer is the same as the breathing of air for the lungs.  Exhaling makes us get rid of our dirty air.  Inhaling gives clean air.  To exhale is to confess, to inhale is to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Corrie ten Boom

This Day's Verse

Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.  All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.  For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

Psalm 86:8-10
The King James Version

This Day's Smile

Eternal in joy for a day’s training on earth.

This Day’s Thought-Special Announcement

This Day's Thought

This Day’s Thought will begin our 22nd year of ministry this coming January.  We are so very blessed by you, our members, and we continue to pray that each day’s new message will provide inspiration and encouragement…and bring us all closer to the Lord.

November has long been our month of fundraising for the ministry.  Accordingly, we prayerfully proceed to share our financial needs as we plan for our next year.

You have heard us often share, “We can do so much with so little, but we need that little so very much!”  Thus, we ask that if you feel so led, you might offer your support to our efforts, so that we can continue reaching and touching people from all over the world with our Christian “seeds for the day.”

If you wish to contribute to This Day’s Thought, you may do so on our website donation page, at this link:  Make A Donation

Thank you all for your support and participation for so many years…it has meant so much to us…and may God continue to bless you in your walk with Him.

In His love, Greg for This Day’s Thought

And some recent testimonials from you, our members…

“I have truly been blessed by your ministry. Thank you for what you are doing in my life and so many others!”

“I hope you never have doubts about your ministry. It brings joy and encouragement to me and who knows how may others every day. Thank you.”

“Dear Greg, thank you for sending me your ‘daily thought’ every day, it feels like God himself speaking to me in a way that I can always understand! May He bless you and the people that help you!”

“Merci for this wonderful gift of every day!  Lots of love from Holland, Amsterdam.  You are God’s gift with all the nice messages that you send!”

“The Lord has placed a lot of good people in my life. I’m glad you are one of them.”

This Day’s Thought-Friday

This Day's Thought

God always works in tranquility.  Fuss and feverishness, anxiety, intensity, intolerance, instability, pessimism and wobble and every kind of worry, these, even on the highest level, are the signs of the self-made and self-acting soul.

Evelyn Underhill

This Day's Verse

“Thou hast taken up my cause, O Lord, thou hast redeemed my life.”

Lamentations 3:58
The Revised Standard Version

This Day's Smile

Wise sayings are like great men talking to us.  It’s the closest most of us can get to greatness.  They are the cheapest teachers, consultants, advisers, guidelines, pilots, signposts, guardians and counselors.  They make us wise in one hundredth of the time of any other sources of knowledge or wisdom.  Get closely acquainted with them.  They’re short cuts to wisdom.

This Day’s Thought-Thursday

This Day's Thought

Jesus, how sweet is the very thought of you!  You fill my heart with joy.  The sweetness of your love surpasses the sweetness of honey.  Nothing sweeter than you can be described; no words can express the joy of your love.  Only those who have tasted your love for themselves can comprehend it.  In your love you listen to all my prayers, even when my wishes are childish, my words confused, and my thoughts foolish.  And you answer my prayers, not according to my own misdirected desires, which would bring only bitter misery; but according to my real needs, which brings me sweet joy.  Thank you, Jesus, for giving yourself to me.

Bernard of Clairvaux

This Day's Verse

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21
The New Living Translation

This Day's Thought

We are becoming who we will be—forever.

Dallas Willard

This Day's Verse

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

John 3:14-15
The New International Version

This Day's Smile

A little more of God will make up for a good deal less of you.

This Day’s Thought-Tuesday

This Day's Thought

When you received Jesus as your Savior, you began to live in two homes—earth and heaven.  You were born the first time into your earthly family.  Now you have been born again into the family of God.  You are a citizen of both worlds.  Your new heavenly home is the biggest one.  It is God’s home.  It is yours because you are united to Jesus and heaven is where he lives.  But we don’t need to wait until we die to visit heaven.  Prayer is the airline to our heavenly homeland.  We walk heaven’s streets and view its wonders each time we fellowship with the Lord.

Ben Jennings

This Day's Verse

The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Proverbs 15:3
The King James Version
